Look, if you are a talented performer, please do not build up the American Idol auditions to more than they really are. Sure, doing well on your American Idol audition is important, but if you should have a poor performance and are voted off of American Idol, so what, it is not the end of your career. There are a plethora of other shows, musicals, and plays for you to try out for, and being on American Idol is far from the only way for a talented performer to get their career going in the showbiz industry. It is important to give it your very best, but don’t put needless pressure on yourself by making too big a deal out of it. Most importantly, don’t ever let anyone, especially jealous friends or family, discourage you from giving it your all. What other people think should not matter at all, if you think you are good enough to be the next American Idol winner, then go for it!

When you hear pundits discussing Internet music, they mostly play up the negative aspects of it. They always talk about the fact that music on the Internet has driven down record sales around the world, and that the music industry is on the verge of collapse. Although they do overstate the case, they do make a point. Music on the Internet really is changing the face of the music industry. The changes, however, are more positive than they would have you believe.
First of all, you have to realize that not all music on the Internet is free music downloads traded by pirates. Quite a bit of Internet music is actually legally downloaded and shared. One of the great things about online music is that it allows smaller independent bands to really court fans in a way they couldn’t before.

First, the instrument has to feel good. It needs to be comfortable in the hands, with the right size and shape to allow for natural handling. Since cheap electric guitars come in a variety of sizes and styles, actually play a few to determine which ones are most comfortable. This allows you to narrow the search to a couple of manufacturers (not a small thing, with so many to choose from!) and a handful of styles.

Wu-Tang
formed originally in New York in 1992 with 9 members (Rza, Gza, Ol’ Dirty, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, U-God, Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Masta Killa). Over the following years there have been many additions to the “Clan” such as Cappadonna, Shyheim, Killarmy, Killa Beez, Sunz Of Man, Buddah Monk, Gravediggaz, and Mathematics to name but a few. Unfortunately there has been one major subtraction from the Wu-Tang Clan which happened on November 13th 2004 when Russell Jones (ODB) collapsed at the studio he was recording at and was pronounced dead 30 minutes later. The autopsy reports stated that the cause of death was accidental overdose.

Oprah asked rock legend Billy Joel
some really good questions to learn about how the successful musician creates such stirring songs. Billy who doesn’t see himself as a “rock star” didn’t object to Oprah calling him a legend in his own right, though Joel doesn’t consider himself the high-maintenance celebrity type. Billy when asked which of his songs are his personal all-time favorites mentioned he considers them all as children, each dear to his heart. Joel did acknowledge however that any given day his personal favorite can change given the circumstances.

Elvis Presley
is certainly one of the most renowned names behind music. Even today, we are absolutely obsessed about this sensation who ruled the world for more than a decade. Elvis, in his childhood, was brought up in modest family in close association with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. He got his first taste of music while attending the Assembly of God Church. He was 10 when he made his first performance at the Mississippi and Alabama Fair in a talent contest. In the meantime, his family, struggling money-wise, decided to move to Memphis, Tennessee in 1948, hoping for a better life. Things were quite hard in those days, forcing Elvis to work while attending LC Humes High School to help his family.

Music therapy
, my favorite being classical, has become widly recognized since the early 1950s. Used for pain, migraines, cancer, stress, upset stomach, fatigue, depression and other, multiple disorders; music therapy can reduce heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rate, stress and anxiety. Most recently, music has been found to bolster the immune system and assists in harmonizing the symmetries in right and left frontal lobes of the brain, (in the case of mental disorders).

If ever there was a guitar player who redefined this instrument for anyone who has ever played it before or since, it would be Jimi Hendrix
. Jimi’s exceptionally creative, powerful, psychedelic licks helped him reach a musical standard that has never been duplicated, and in his four short years as a recording star he established himself as a musical legend without equal. His performances at the Monterrey Pop Festival which established him as a star, and later at Woodstock were some of the most awe-inspiring in the history of live music, and history will remember Jimi Hendrix as one of the most influential albeit enigmatic and mysterious musicians who ever graced the stage.

BB King
has been playing guitar blues for over 60 years and is one of the standards that people use when they talk about guitar blues players. He has recorded with such great bands as U2 and is best known for his trademark hollow body electric guitar he calls Lucille. He was originally called the Beale Street Blues Boy but before his first record came out the record company shortened it to BB and used his real last name of King to create the name BB King. In over 60 years BB King has played his smooth style of blues all over the world.

In the 1920’s and 1930’s, blues guitar players
like Blind Lemon Jefferson, Son House, Robert Johnson, and Lonnie Johnson were the influential performers of the day. They used a slide which was often made out of a knife blade or the broken or sawed off neck from a bottle. Most of the music was improvised, and unaccompanied. The form of the songs were loose, and were rarely, if ever, played the same way twice.

To really understand the phenomenon of white music artists singing R&B
, you should begin with an examination of the motivation and purpose behind the establishment of black music divisions at record companies in the 60s. While the success of Motown as a black owned operation has been well-documented and highly publicized, many of the competing record labels of that time lacked the personnel to adequately exploit the abundance of musically talented black teens.
