Make Up Your Own Kids Songs

April 29th, 2010

Babies love music, and many experts say it is key to learning and development. There are plenty of kids songs out there that you can sing to your children or play for them. However, you may find that you get tripped up on the words or that you get tired of singing the same three songs over and over again. Many moms love to sing to their babies by making up their own words. This is ideal for kids because the songs are tailored to their lives, environment, and age. Have fun with your songs and your children will remember them longer than you may think.

You can put your child’s name into any kids songs that you sing, but it is more fun to make the entire song up on your own using their name as the main theme of the song. For very young babies, you can sing softly about what you are going to do while singing their name in the song. They can easily learn the words for diaper, bottle, food, or bath through your kids songs. This doesn’t mean they are going to speak sooner, usually, but it does mean they are going to understand what you mean when you say those words thanks to the singsong way you speak them and the repetition.

As your babies get older, your kids songs for them can get more complex. They are learning and seeing new things all of the time, and if you put those things into your kids songs your baby can learn what they are. They are going to enjoy the sound of your voice and the whimsical tune you sing as they learn, and if they are not getting much from some songs, they are at least amused and happy. Your voice was the first thing they heard while they were inside of you, and that voice will always be calming and reassuring to them, especially when that voice is singing a song.

Some moms make up kids songs for different activities and use them each time that activity comes up. Babies and toddlers alike can be ready for what is coming next because they know the song and associate it with an activity like time for lunch or time for a bath. Kids songs can also be things you use to amuse your kids on longer car rides if they seem to hate being in a car seat, or to get them through other things that they seem to have no patience for. These kids songs are great for potty training as well.

Your kids songs can say anything that you wish them to say. That is the best part of making up your own songs. You can use any tune from any other song you wish, but put your child’s name in the kids songs quite often, and then sing about whatever you are going to do. It doesn’t matter how goofy you think your lyrics are or how nonsensical they may seem. Your baby is going to love them. Just have some rhythm and rhyme in there and you have great songs that your children will eventually sing along with you.

60′s music hits

April 28th, 2010

The 1960s are fondly remembered as a particulary rich time in music history. While the birth of rock and roll came a decade previous, it’s the 1960s that saw rock and roll become a cultural phenomenon unparalleled before or since. As a result, there are a plethora of 60′s music hits that are still alive and well today, as recognizable as anything from modern acts like Radiohead, Jay-Z, The White Stripes, and everything in between.

Of course when thinking of 60′s music hits, you should start with the most famous band of the 1960s, and really the most famous band of all time: The Beatles. They originally formed in the late 1950s, went through a couple of personnel changes, and eventually settled upon the famous quartet of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr in 1962. From there they went to Hamburg, which was a far more forward-thinking city in terms of music than anything in the United Kingdom at the time, and became a European sensation. (They did play some gigs in their hometown of Liverpool as well, but it’s the Hamburg time that is remembered as being most crucial in forming the Beatles’ sound and legend).

Later that year they finally hit it big with their first chart-topper, “Love Me Do.” It hit number seventeen in the United Kingdom, and among 60′s music hits it’s still considered one of the best. Ironically, though, their first big hit didn’t feature all four Beatles; Starr was replaced on drums for that particular song by a studio drummer (who had the good fortune of receiving royalties for years). It was the last time all four Beatles wouldn’t feature on a particular song.

A year later they found themselves in America at the spearhead of the British Invasion, and produced a string of 60′s music hits with their albums Please Please Me, Meet the Beatles, and A Hard Day’s Night. The third single off of Please Please Me, “From Me to You,” was their first number one hit and really began the birth of Beatlemania. Lennon and McCartney had penned the song together and would later admit that, as with much of the band’s early work, they were simply trying to copy the style of previous rock and roll acts like Buddy Holly and The Everyly Brothers. Lennon once went so far as to say that the words to the Beatles early songs were mostly meaningless.

After that early period, the Beatles evolved considerably over the years. Following the success of “From Me to You” and, even moreso, “I want to Hold Your Hand,” Lennon and McCartney became more experimental both lyrically and musically. The album Help! was a big step forward in that regard, and that progress redoubled with Rubber Soul and Revolver, ultimately culminating with The White Album and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band later in the decade. Those last two are considered by many to be the gold standard for 60′s music hits and rock and roll as a whole.

70s Music Hits are Unique in Modern Era

April 23rd, 2010

About 70s Music Hits

Aѕ а man born in the 1970s, I didn’t have much experience with 70s music hits wһen they first caмe oυt, beсause I ωas jυst а baby or ѕmall child. I haνe always looked Ьack on the music of tһe 70s with fondness, however, because there weгe grөat roсk’n rοll songs, but it was also the era of discο music and the өra tһat saw the Ьirth οf heаvy metal.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am nοt a huge fan of dіsco music, but I do thіnk that it has an intereѕting sound, and I am а hugө fаn of heavү metal. It іs generally acknowledged that such bands aѕ Blaсk Sabbath, Judаs Priest, Led Zeppelin аnd Deep Purрle were the originators of this particular brand of music, and that it was started in the 1970′s.

10 of the Top 50 Rock Songs of All Time

April 18th, 2010

Everyone has a valid opinion on this subject and very few people if asked will refrain from responding. Rock music has so permeated the fabric of our beings that they become impossible to separate from our experience. Why a person would pick one song over another of the top 50 rock songs of all time is purely dependent on where they were and what they were doing when they first heard that song. Our nostalgia for past events in our life is inextricably intertwined with the songs that make up our life’s soundtrack.

I hereby propose the following list (unapologetically) of my very own for the 10 best of the top 50 rock songs of all time.

10. American Pie by Don McLean. Released in 1971 this is another one of the top 50 rock songs that everybody was singing when it first came out. This was one of the first times in history when over-saturation because of excessive radio play could not make you hate a song. To this day this is one of the most requested and played songs on classic rock radio formats.

9. Layla by Derek and the Dominoes from 1970. We just had never heard something so majestic as the multi-layered Layla when it first hit AM radio. Clapton proved he was the best guitar gunslinger in the world with the soaring sounds of this fantastic song.

8. Maggie May by Rod Stewart was a bittersweet melody that we all remember as being integrally mixed in with where we were when we first heard it. Whether it was at a high school dance with your first sweetheart or taking your first road trip with your pals, this song is similar to many others in the top 50 rock songs of all time in that it is unforgettable.

7. Proud Mary by Credence Clearwater Revival. Recorded in 1969 by John Fogerty and company, this song transcended rock and roll and became a symbol of our country’s music around the world.

6. Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf from 1968 ushered in an era of black lights and glow in the dark posters. This Fillmore West favorite band also hit the jackpot with Born to be Wild off the same album.

5. Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin. Drinking Wild Turkey straight from the bottle and doing massive amounts of drugs eventually led to Janis’ demise, but this southern style rocker is still one of the most challenging female vocal tunes ever to be recorded.

4. Baba O’Riley by the Who. “It’s only teenage wasteland” screams Roger Daltrey in this hard driving rock classic, easily one of the top 50 rock songs of our lifetime.

3. Honky Tonk Woman by the Rolling Stones. Written by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger purportedly while they were on vacation in Brazil, this song still makes people dance from the opening cowbell licks to the signature guitar riffs.

2. Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin by 1971. “No Playing Stairway to Heaven” was the sign at the Guitar Center in the movie Wayne’s World, but seriously, this song became the ultimate rock anthem. This song invented swaying crowds holding up lighters.

1. Hey Jude by the Beatles recorded in 1968 and released as a single on their Apple label. This is by far the greatest song ever recorded by the greatest band ever assembled (yes, even Ringo).

The Many Benefits of Magazine Subscriptions

April 17th, 2010

A lot of folks have at one part in their lives subscribed for a journal that they commonly enjoy. The main gain of magazine subscriptions is that these publications extend substantially lower prices per issue compared to the ordinary news stand prices. The comparative advantage is that these subscriptions certify that you will regularly be supplied with the consecutive publication. With printed publications typically displayed on newsstands, this can often be a hit or miss, dependent on the availability of the title. Choosing to subscribe is really easy just about all printed periodicals provide a subscriptions form in each issue. Simply complete it and then send it to the publisher group. Publications can typically be subscribed to online through going to the publication’s listed website. Magazines form a big share of the public press as well as contemporary society and their reputation with readers continues to increase.

Digests encourage favouritism from people who normally favour the same sort of magazine genres. No matter if the magazine subscription sort is sports, cooking, domestic decorating and motor mechanics or is specially aimed at craft lovers and art enthusiasts there is great pleasure to be gained from this mobile type of reading material. Publications concentrating on companies or the fine arts like theatre and dance, museum exhibits and urban and extra-urban issues all constitute a portion of the enormous choice of magazines available.

It is unlikely that magazines will ever shrink from public liking assuming that the straightforward access to magazine stands that sell them and to subscriptions which maintain a general distribution of digests to homes and businesses. Should the magazine reader transfers from one particular delivery address to another, the subscription merely needs a simple change of postal details prior to the migration to continue obtaining current issues. Electronic magazines are certainly fantastic for normal laptop users but in reality unless there is direct accessibility to the web E-zines are not as freely accessible as magazines that can simply be slipped into a purse or briefcase. Printed journals are always handy and timely browsing material especially for routine travellers.

The inclination of subscribing to periodicals is one that the majority of readers are unlikely to stop. Many of the most invaluable subscriptions are those for the style of digest that improves in economic value over a span of time. Video programme title, national, historic and international news periodicals regularly enlarge in economic value as a consequence of exceptional events that have taken place.

The Last Classical Music CD I Ever Bought

April 9th, 2010

About Classical Music CD

My favorite kind of music is classical, and I was in a jovial mood, so I said that I was looking for a classical music CD that included Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. I was expecting a surprised or dumbfounded expression, but the associate smiled again and said, “Right this way.”

He walked me over to a section that had a rather sizable classical music selection and that included three different CDs with all six of the Brandenburg Concertos. Now I was the one with the surprised and dumbfounded expression.

I had not bought a classical music CD in months, and New Orleans, the jazz and blues capital of America, was the last place I expected to find what has become one of my favorite recordings. I began to wonder what else the store may have had that would be worth purchasing, so I continued to look.

Gino Vanelli Free Live Videos

April 8th, 2010

Gino Vanelli is a marvelous singer coming from Montreal. He established -along with his brother Joe Vanelli- a huge achievement in the so called progressive rock in the late 70s early 80s.

His music style is a blend of crooner style of singing with modern jazz rock music and heavy drumming. He owns an amazing voice and despite being really extroverted and self centered, he leaves lots of room to his virtuosos musians. Most of the songs last over five minutes and features long soli and instrumental passages that are simply splendid.

Today he adopted a more jazzy approach, his last studio album “The Best and Beyond” was launched in 2009, and he released a live album “Live at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2002″ in 2010. His biggest hit ever was the song Black Car in 1985 and is considered as his worse song and most commercial attempts by real fans and musicians.

Music Favorite holds 10s of live and studio videos of Gino Vanelli to watch and enjoy for free.
