It seems that the western Iowa tourism region lines up almost exactly with the region where most of the music in Iowa is recorded. This area of the state is full of local talent and there are many in home recording studios here. The tourism board did a survey of the artists in the area and put out a pamphlet showing where tourists could go to see performances live along with where to go to learn more about the recording industry in Iowa.
