Many a DJ will take a different approach when selecting dance music. For DJ’s, combining the old and the new is what dance music is all about. Whether it is in mash-ups or remixes, this has forever been the way that people thought about creating dance mix music. Knowing what kind of music the kids are listening to past and present is what it’s all about. Chances are good a song will make it into your mix if you hear it playing on a cell phone ring tone, but just because it’s on your cell phone doesn’t mean that you should only use the latest music hits. It seems that the western Iowa tourism region lines up almost exactly with the region where most of the music in Iowa is recorded. This area of the state is full of local talent and there are many in home recording studios here. The tourism board did a survey of the artists in the area and put out a pamphlet showing where tourists could go to see performances live along with where to go to learn more about the recording industry in Iowa. It seems many of the artists in the area were not aware of other artists there and with this new information many have gotten together to collaborate on different projects. Many have even started putting out duet CDs recorded in the basement studio. These CDs are starting to show up for sale in local establishments. As the sales for these increase so does the demand for the artists to perform an the local venues. This is spurring quite an increase in the appreciation of not only music, but all of the performing arts in the area. This place is getting to be the hot spot of the state to go to hear all kinds of music from country western to hip hop.

Ciara was born in Austin, Texas. She grew up in army bases in Germany, New York, California, Arizona and Nevada, since her father was in the United States Army.
Ciara has said that it was seeing a televised performance by Destiny’s Child while staying home from school one day that inspired her to pursue a career in music. In her early teens she formed the goal to become a professional singer. She once was a cheerleader for her North Clayton High School team, until she quit. She then joined a girl group called Hearsay, worked on her songwriting, eventually left the group, got a publishing deal, and found a “musical soulmate” when she met producer Jazze Pha.
