Kareoke DVDs

June 4th, 2008

The word `karaoke` has a Japanese origin from the words `kara` meaning empty or void and okesutora, meaning orchestra. It is a kind of entertainment in which singers sing with music pre-recorded played on a music system. The song used is usually a popular song, but the original recorded voice is removed or the volume is reduced low enough so that it does not interfere with the current singer. Kareoke dvds
are discs that are specially formatted to have only music of songs and their lyrics displayed when the song is played from the DVD. The earlier formats used for Karaoke were VCD and CD+G. Another format which is used for it discs is laser discs.

Kareoke Discs

June 4th, 2008

Kareoke discs are specially formatted discs that have lyrics and music. There are two major karaoke disc formats: VCD and CD+G. CD+G discs are mainly audio CDs, having extra lyric data. They can be played on a CD player, though the images are low in quality. VCD or “Video CD” can support MPEG-compressed video of high quality. This format, while popular in Asia, has some catching up to do here in America. There are also DVDs and karaoke laser discs.

The Amazing Singing Voice - Soar to New Singing Heights

April 18th, 2007

If you are a singer or inspire to be one you don’t want to miss this report about your amazing singing voice. You will learn to increase your octave range with this vocal lesson.

This piece of the puzzle about vocal training will do one of two things: either it will bring back some of the things you already know about vocal training or it will train you in a new area. No matter how you view it, you will be a better informed singer.

How Long to Increase Your Singing Range?

Your voice cannot be forced into a new singing range; it must be trained. You’ll need to find the flow in your voice and use your mind to overcome muscular limitations. While training your voice, you’ll also decrease vibrating vocal cords, or mass, until your vocal cords dampen. This will decrease the vibrating sounds of the cords. With this type of voice training, you’ll train your musculature to obey your mind.

The Trouble With Singing

March 28th, 2007

This article gives some incredible singing tips and I hope you will find it useful in your music endeavers. The trouble with singing is that there are 6 billion opinions on the approach to singing and few are taking into account that each voice is distinctive, though the mechanism is basically the same for all voices.

Taking into account that we’ve only been looking at the cords for the last hundred years, (most of this time through a dental mirror placed at the back of the throat) we’ve only just begun to understand how the voice works.

Karaoke Singing

December 5th, 2006

This article gives some tips on the art of karaoke singing and I hope it helps to liven up your vocal chords!

Choose a song that you are very familiar with and that suits your style of singing. You have probably heard people murdering a very popular song (usually anything by Anastasia) when they would have sounded 10 times better singing a song that they knew well and suited their voice.

Tip! Practice singing SLOW. If you go too fast you may be practicing “mistakes”.

If possible take your own karaoke disc, I have never known a kj refuse to play a singer’s own disc. You will have practised this to perfection at home and your performance will be 100% better as a result.

Swing Bass For Piano - Get Your Left Hand in Action
The piano style is called "swing bass" because your left hand swings back and forth between a low note or group of notes, such as a 10th, alternating with a chord in the area right below middle C. It is a great tool for lending spark and variety to songs. You will add a lot to your style as you practice this technique more and keep your audience swinging with your music.
