About piano lessons for children
I started on the piano when I was about 12 years old, and my instructor was an old lady named Mrs. Winn. She had been a high school music teacher for many years, and when she retired, she started teaching private lessons on the side.
She told me that piano lessons for children were important for aspiring musicians, because they helped children to understand the elements of music.
I had always fancied myself the next Van Cliburn, so I thought this was a great opportunity for me, and then she told me that lessons were good for children in other ways, too.

You love music and you want to pursue your interest in it, but where do you start? Understanding the basic fundamentals of music theory is important, but learning how to read sheet music is a must, whether you want to play a musical instrument for your own enjoyment, play in a group, or sing privately or publicly.
As you study the music score before you, you will need to learn three basic things: how to recognize the basic language of music, the notes, and the musical sounds they represent, and the timing symbols included in the music map. None of these are terribly difficult, but mastering them is essential to recreating or singing the piece they way it has been written.
You can go online to find courses that teach basic sight reading, which is the process of understanding the rhythm and sounds being described on a piece of sheet music. Of course, you can buy self-teaching manuals as well or find a music teacher who will teach you how to read sheet music. You will discover scales, clefs, stafs and rests.Once the basics are mastered, you can sight read music to sing to or to play with other instruments besides the piano.
The world of music is a wonderful place, full of opportunity for people of all abilities to find their own niche. Do not hesitate to search for your own.

Quseston: do piano music lessons really teach you how to play? Intuitively, the answer is yes; lessons help you learn the proper fingerings, the scales, the rhythms, how to play with dynamics, and how to sight read and follow time signatures, assuming this was your first foray into music.
But the fact that the repertoire is often restricted to the classical period and that your “playing” is simply a well-practiced regurgitation of timeless pieces might make you think otherwise.

If you already have a new age relaxation music then it will be a very nice addition, if you don’t then it will be a really good start, since you not only get new age mp3’s but other genres too. There are many web sites that offer relaxation CD’s, however, many of them do not have samples, which makes it a total guess, you don’t know what you’re paying for. But this web site I have found, has samples of almost every song they have, which does help a lot, since you know what you are paying for.

Some people are talented enough to teach themselves to play an instrument like the piano. Those gifted musicians usually can teach themselves without the use of instruction books. Others, especially younger people, need piano books to grasp the technique required to learn how to play.
Instructional materials for learning the instrument come in a variety of styles, levels and formats. Typically if you are taking lessons, a teacher may recommend specific piano books. Using the recommended materials may become monotonous, depending on what kind of music you want to learn. Given a flexible teacher or self-teaching environment, books available can range from classical to modern pieces, technique, and workbooks, all with varying levels of difficulty. The choice is yours.

Mechanics and movement seem to just go hand in hand when it comes to Switzerland. Actually, more like mechanics, movement, and beauty. From pocket watches to clocks to music boxes, Swiss craftsmanship is world renowned. The Reuge music box is certainly no exception. They are timeless expressions of what is so loved about this country.
The music box itself has had quite an evolution; just as with watches, these intricate marvels of music and movement were first designed and crafted in Switzerland. The first factory specifically built to make music boxes opened its doors in 1815. The proud owners Jeremie Recorden and Samuel Junod had no idea this simple device would become and industry that would so captivate the world.
