Servo Controlled Voltage Stabilizer
As we discussed earlier, servo voltage stabilizers (also known as automatic voltage stabilizers) are used for high power applications where a stable voltage is required, in spite of input line voltage variations and change in load. Servo Voltage Controlled Stabilizer ensures a high long-term stability of the output voltage.
It operates on a closed loop control. An electronic control circuit in the equipment measures the output voltage and compares with a high-stable reference. Whenever the output voltage deviates from the reference for more than 1% (industry standard), the servo drive (a motor) is switched on until the output voltage has again reached the nominal value. This results in a booster voltage, to be added to or taken away from the line voltage, corresponding to the deviation.
Though the components are very simple, painstaking material selection and careful manufacturing process assure reliability, high effeciency and a long service life.
Servo Controlled Voltage Stabilizers consist of electrical and mechanical components, yet the design is so simple that it can be serviced by universally readily available skill sets.
